Twenty-four friends of the brand collaborated with TOMMY HILFIGER designers through virtual 3D design sessions to put their unique twist on customized pieces that will be auctioned to support the World Wildlife Fund.

WHAT:          Tommy Hilfiger, which is owned by PVH Corp. [NYSE: PVH], is hosting a charity auction for 24 t-shirts digitally created by friends of the brand using innovative 3D design tools, with all proceeds being donated to the World Wildlife Fund’s water stewardship program. The 3D design activation is part of the brand’s wider Moving Forward Together initiative, a bold program designed to unleash the power of the collective and inspire the global creative community to shape a better future that wastes nothing and welcomes all. The auction on catawiki.com will begin on October 23, 2020 and run for 10 days.

Each of the 24 friends of the brand come from a diverse range of backgrounds within the worlds of fashion, music, arts, entertainment and sport (F.A.M.E.S.) – key sources of inspiration for Mr. Tommy Hilfiger since he founded his eponymous brand. Pioneers and advocates for Moving Forward Together in their own right, the ambassadors all brought their unique interests, passions and perspectives to the 3D design journey.

"What moving forward together means to me is creating opportunities to spread a message of hope, power and love,” said collaborator, Michaela DePrince, who designed a cropped T-shirt featuring the uplifting message of “I rise” on the back, representing her journey facing incredible adversity – being born into war, being orphaned at a very young age – yet rising above it all to become an inspiration for millions. DePrince’s design also includes the number 22 on one shoulder, signifying her true birth date of June 22nd, which was incorrectly recorded at the time of her adoption. This reflects DePrince’s dedication to embracing her authentic life story. “The hope we need to believe in a better world, the power we need to make a change, and the love for each other, no matter who you are or what you look like, that will be the basis on which a new world will be built.”

“Moving forward together starts with having the uncomfortable conversations so we can understand where we are all coming from,” said Jasmine Sanders, who designed a boxy T-shirt featuring the message, “Only love can truly save the world” on the back, as a reminder that we can make a difference by embracing one another with love, happiness and positivity. “It starts in your home, and then in your neighborhood and your community. We can learn to work together to make positive change in a way that includes everyone.”

"Moving forward together is celebrating our unique differences and connecting to what we all have in common,” said Dilone, who designed a shirt featuring the powerful BLM lettering across the back, furthering her continued advocacy for the Black Lives Matter movement, which she has personally supported throughout this year. “We are flawed human beings who want to love and be loved.”

The total list of F.A.M.E.S. ambassadors who participated in the Moving Forward Together activation includes: Paolo Stella, Haifa Beseisso, Pietro Boselli, Kendall Harrison, Michaela DePrince, Alton Mason, Calle y Poche, James Turlington, Audrey Hilfiger, Neels Visser, Meida Damayanti, Halima, Hwasa, Kit Butler, Dilone, Soo Joo Park, Jasmine Sanders, Zhao Lei, Yoshi, Dadju, Ralph Souffrant, Axel Witsel, Leonello Borghi and Geron McKinley.

Building on TOMMY HILFIGER’s overarching sustainability vision to create fashion that Wastes Nothing and Welcomes all, the F.A.M.E.S. ambassadors customized the 24 styles using the brand’s innovative, online, 3D design tools to prevent textile waste. To learn how to use the innovative 3D design software, each collaborator received a 1-on-1 virtual training session with the STITCH Design Lab.

STITCH is part of PVH’s innovation incubator, dedicated to making 3D design scalable and unlocking the power of digital fashion within the industry. Since 2018, this team of software engineers, 3D design experts, and transformation specialists have built a unique offering of trainings, workshops and tools to help Tommy Hilfiger open new digitalization opportunities along its entire value chain. Now, 24 friends of the brand were able to experience end-to-end 3D design, from stylistic customization to 3D product photo rendering.

A selection of the co-creators will take part in a YouTube series launching October 21, 2020 on the TOMMY HILFIGER YouTube channel, where they will narrate the 3D design process leading up to the charitable auction supporting the World Wildlife Fund’s water stewardship program.

Since 2013, Tommy Hilfiger has focused on addressing the growing problem of water scarcity. Partnering with the World Wildlife Fund, Tommy Hilfiger co-created a long-term strategy focused on developing more sustainable water practices both within production facilities and by fostering collective action with other businesses, governments, NGOs and communities who share its water basins. Tommy Hilfiger and the World Wildlife Fund now run water stewardship programs in: China’s Taihu River; the Mekong River basin in Vietnam; and the Büyük Menderes river basin in Turkey.

Friends and followers of the brand are invited to join the conversation on social media using #TommyHilfiger, @TommyHilfiger, #TommyJeans and @TommyJeans.
